Publisher's Message: A New Service from Practical Pain Management

by Marvin Rosenfeld

Marvin RosenfeldWe are in the process of digitizing our article archives, and you will be able to access any article published in Practical Pain Management in the last nine years

The first issue of Practical Pain Management was published in September 2000. Coincidently, it was the start of the decade of pain. Congress recognized the need for attention to this seldom discussed disease. We can now call it a disease because we found that irrespective of the underlining causes it has a life of its own.

Think back to the nature of your practice nine years ago. How much has it changed in light of the attention this publication and others have given to the pain management therapy options, identification of risks, complementary approaches, new pharmaceuticals, legal requirements and practice management? Undoubtedly, there were a number of articles you passed up because they weren’t germane to your practice at the time. As pain management becomes more and more the reason for therapy and not just a result of an underlining cause, you have probably broadened your approach.

Think of something you have added to your practice in the last nine years and there is a good chance we have published an article on that subject. We are now offering you the opportunity to go back to articles in the simplest manner possible. We’ll e-mail a PDF to you once you have selected the article or articles you need. We will only charge you a minimum service fee of $5 per article.

There is a little more about this new service on page 56, but all you have to do is go to www.ppmjournal.com and locate articles using the search function, chronological list, alphabetical list or table of contents. As articles come available for online ordering, they will be identified with an ‘order’ button. We hope this new service will be of use to you.
